Solar PV
Solar Electricity Panels, also known as Photovoltaics (PV) capture the suns energy which is then converted into electricity that can be used in the home.
By installing a solar system, you can generate your own renewable energy.
Sunlight is free, so once your system has been installed, your energy bills will significantly reduce, the systems we install typically pay for themselves in 7-10 years, so after that the electricity your system generates truly costs nothing!
During daylight hours you'll be generating your own electricity, even on cloudy days! Your panels will supply electricity directly into your household during the day, and you can also store any excess in a battery for use
in the evening, or sell it back to The Grid.
Battery Storage
The electricity you use when your panels aren't generating energy, i.e. in the evening, can be supplemented by importing energy from the grid in the usual way, but it would be much more efficient to add battery storage to your system.
With a battery, you'll store any excess energy generated during daylight hours which will then be discharged back into the home when called upon by your appliances, heating, shower, TV etc.
Battery storage is a very efficient way to make the absolute most of the energy your solar system generates.
Energy Diverters
An energy diverter is able to monitor your solar energy generation, consumption, import and export, and make the best decision, based on your preferences, for where the energy goes. If it can see that you are generating electricity which cannot go to a battery (if you don't have one, or it is full), and also that there's no use for it elsewhere in the house, rather than letting it go back to the electricity grid, it can divert the power to the water heater. This saves you from buying electricity from your provider at a high rate, to heat the water later on.
Many systems have a monitoring platform (app) allowing you to monitor and manage it remotely from anywhere in the world.
Electric Vehicle Charging
As a great way to reduce your carbon footprint, Electric Vehicles (EV's) are now more popular than ever. One of the biggest questions many of us have when considering switching our vehicle to electric is how we will charge it.
There are many benefits to installing a charging point at home; it is much faster than charging your vehicle by simply plugging it into the mains using a standard 3-pin plug, it is also much cheaper and more convenient than charging at a public charge point.
When it comes to the charge point itself, there is so much choice it can seem a little overwhelming. At Kilowatt Renewables we are experienced in this area as well as being an approved installer for a number of trusted brands, and we are happy to discuss your options and, if you'd like, to recommend a charger we think could be right for you, your vehicle and your home.

Scheduling & Planning. This stage is uniquely tailored to each project's specifics. It is essential to inform your local Distribution Network Operator (DNO) when integrating any energy-generating products into their network, the type of system you've chosen determines whether pre-installation approval or post-commissioning notification is required. With your consent, we seamlessly manage this process on your behalf as part of our comprehensive service. We may also carry out a site visit at a mutually convenient time and during this phase we collaborate with you to plan other aspects, such as component delivery and storage, as well as erection of the scaffolding ready for the start date. In the background we will be planning the installation itself, carrying out risk assessments, and dealing with the necessary logistics.

Information Gathering. After receiving your initial enquiry, we'll guide you on any additional details needed. With just a few simple pieces of information, we can begin the assessment of your solar options. At this point, you have the flexibility to choose the level of detail you want in your estimate. Simply provide your address and a general idea of your preferences for a quick estimate, or you can opt for a more personalised proposal and quote with just a little extra information, such as your current energy consumption, and additional details about your home. This detailed proposal will be uniquely tailored to you, as can be seen in the next point.

Project Execution. With meticulous planning in place, we seamlessly transition into the installation phase. Our skilled team springs into action, expertly and considerately installing your tailored solar system. Throughout this process, if any unforeseen challenges arise, rest assured that they will be promptly identified and addressed, keeping you fully updated throughout. Proposal & Quote. Did you know that the performance of your solar system depends on many factors such as your roof angle and house orientaton, as well as your location in the country? That's why every solar system is tailored, ensuring a unique configuraton which maximises efficiency and harnesses the full benefits of your specific conditions. Opting for a full proposal will give you a much higher level of fact-based detail to consider. This in-depth analysis doesn't significantly extend the timeframe and is still entirely obligation-free. We'll guide you on the necessary information, then get to work tailoring a proposal to your needs. The comprehensive proposal provides insights into the systems performance, estimated payback period, potential import reduction, how much you could earn from excess energy export, carbon footprint reduction, and more. This detail can help you to assess the feasibility of proceeding with the installation, and allows you to make informed comparisons between different options.

Completion & Final Inspection. Once your system is in place, our team conducts a meticulous final inspection ensuring not only the precision of the installation but, most importantly its electrical safety. With dedicated care, we fine-tune every detail, addressing any remaining considerations. To ensure optimal performance, we thoroughly verify the system's functionality. As with every other day during the installation, rest assured that we will leave your home clean and tidy, ensuring a smooth and considerate experience from start to finish.

Review & Approval. In this step, we present our comprehensive proposal, tailored to your unique needs. Take your time and review the details, we value your input, so feel free to request any changes or adjusments before finalising the plan. Once you're completely satisfied with the proposed solar system design, performance projections and financial estimates, your approval marks the beginning of the next exciting phase in bringing solar power to your home or business. As part of the finalisation process, we will take payment of your deposit, which we will have previously discussed with you. Handover & Aftercare. As we reach the final stage of your solar installation, we conduct a comprehensive handover, ensuring you are fully acquainted with your new sustainable energy system. Our team provides detailed insights into its operation, maintenance requirements, and optimal usage. We will provide you with all necessary user guides as well as all of your warranties and certification. Additionally, we guide you through the setting up of any remote monitoring platforms provided by the manufacturer(s), to which you have access, empowering you with real-time insights into your sustainable energy production.
